Fetish journeys
Community art of desire, beauty, and finding kinky interest
Performance Artist: Sirpa Grip
Visual Artist: Jenna Kauppi
Sound Designer: Tommi Saha
Fetish Journeys is a community art project that dives into the world of fetishes with sensitivity, respect, and curiosity. The project seeks to illuminate the beauty and significance behind different fetishes—why do certain materials, situations, or objects ignite something in specific individuals?
This multidisciplinary exhibition is born from genuine dialogue with people of various ages and backgrounds who have different fetishes. Based on these conversations, the team creates visual artworks, performances, and sound pieces that invite the audience to explore the rich and diverse terrain of pleasure and desire.
The exhibition is opening 3.8. in the Galleria TASO. The multi-art exhibition allows visitors to experience the allure of fetishes through direct sensory interaction—what does the click of heels, the rustle of plastic, or the tension of ropes feel like? The exhibition offers a chance to reflect on oneself and others through new perspectives. The experience includes the artworks themselves, informative inserts and presentations about fetishes, and performative pieces.
Fetish Journeys is part of From Here to Art Travel Agency, a project selected for the official Oulu2026 cultural programme. The artistic team—Sirpa Grip, Jenna Kauppi, and Tommi Saha—collaborates with interviewees and members of fetish communities, in partnership with Rope Art ry.
