Omalla paikalla – The Travel Process

Omalla paikalla (In Your Own Place) is a travel process where the residents of Rantakoti (Hoivatie Ldt) engage with important places to them through art. A “place of one’s own” can represent a memory, build identity, or encourage thinking about things from a new perspective. To be in your own place can also evoke a feeling of belonging, being seen, or the sense of being at home.

During the travel process, the group stays in contact with the London-based Entelechy Arts organization’s art group for older adults, Glorious Age. The communication consists of correspondence and an exchange of art between two very different groups living in separate places.

The artists from the cultural cooperative ILME will hold regular art workshops at Rantakoti during the years 2025 and 2026. The artistic work will culminate in a performance at the Elojuhla of the Muhos disability service units on the 7th of Septemer, 5 – 6:30 PM. Every kinds of audience is welcome 3.9. Entelechy Arts’ Glorious Age will perform in the event with an online performance. 

Rantakoti in Muhos is a home for elderly people with intellectual disabilities who need round-the-clock service housing. The goal of Rantakoti’s guidance and support is to promote the overall well-being and life management of each resident, ensuring that each person’s lifestyle and preferences are taken into account.

The London-based Entelechy Arts is a charity organization that works primarily with elderly people living in isolation, individuals suffering from severe and multiple disabilities, and those residing in care homes. The aim is to give participants the opportunity to actively and visibly participate in the creative life of their community. Entelechy Arts programs are often developed in collaboration with art, healthcare, and care organizations both locally and nationally.

Beach home residents invite you to visit important locations. The route they will open the poems, photos, and play in. Public offer distance based on a year-long community of artistic work. Your location will be implemented together with the ministry strip oy disability services with.
